TOGETHER WE RISE!! ORGANIZATION TO HELP FOSTER CHIDREN!

"At Together We Rise we do what we do not because of the fame, glory, or recognition, we do it because it is the right thing to do.

Together We Rise is a 501(c)3 a non-profit organization comprised of motivated young adults. Our vision is to improve the lives of foster children in America, who often find themselves forgotten and neglected by the public. TWR has built a foundation of passionate volunteers who work tirelessly to make a difference in underprivileged children’s lives. Our foundation has allowed us to put smiles on many children’s faces in various ways, including sports camps, music, art, and improving overall living conditions. TWR strives to deliver a sense of normalcy to the children by furnishing them with clothing that actually fit, and by offering support through counseling and mentoring."

I was very excited to learn about this non-profit this week. As someone who is all about helping to empower girls everywhere, especially in this country, I can't even begin to describe what a valuable resource an organization like this is. Well over the majority of girls who end up being human trafficking victims in this country are foster children. In smaller numbers they are also runaways, girls who are homeless, girls who are lured into trafficking via the internet or through an abusive relationship, girls who are kidnapped or girls and women who are smuggled into this country from all over the world. In a lot of ways it makes sense, because the traffickers are going to target the most vulnerable girls, and who is an easier target than a girl who doesn't have a family, and probably is living in an abusive foster home.

Organizations that help these children are so important, because there are very few of them, (I actually don't know if I can even name another one in this country) and these children have been very forgotten by our society.
