SISTER GIANT: WOMEN'S CONSCIOUSNESS IN POLITICS!

Between this and the fund for Malala it's days like today in which I take a step back and think "wow we really are doing it, aren't we?" I'm not sure if how much things have changed and are going to continue to change has really hit me yet, but I'm looking forward to it more than anything.

"Sister Giant is an historic opportunity to be heard, and to begin shifting the politics of our country back toward the dreams, hopes, needs, and desires of the people who founded this democracy, and we, the people, who pay for and support it.

So many of us feel discouraged, even paralyzed, in the face of political activism, which has come to seem ineffective and fruitless . . . a pursuit based on evolutionary ideals that don't seem to resonate with those who hold the reins of power.

And unfortunately, that's often true.

The self-interested few who are now gripping the reins of power won't willingly hand them over.

To make that happen, we're ALL going to need to show up, and collectively stand as one, demanding a new politics in America that represents who we are as conscious, caring and committed women.

Women who are taking a powerful stand for the America that could be . . . an America where at least half of our elected officials are women who think about serving all of the citizens of the United States in much the same way that we would, and who make decisions with the kind of integrity and fairness as we might.

An America where the "bottom line" is people, and not profit.

An America that could be a conscious leader in our emerging global society and offer sustainable solutions for the life-threatening challenges our planet faces."
