GIVE YOURSELF AND GIRLS A VOICE FOR XMAS!

What better way to celebrate the holiday season and to bring in 2013 knowing full well that you have given yourself and another girl the most powerful gift on this planet. What is that? Her voice!

Plan's Because I am a girl has a wonderful gift option in which you can actually fund a girl's radio show. I decided that this is the gift I'm going to give to myself and the world this holiday season!

"Empower a girl with confidence, self-esteem, and practical skills as a journalist. This gift helps fund a girl-produced radio program focusing on public health, the importance of education, and other relevant issues. Broadcast throughout the entire community, this groundbreaking media project gives girls a voice and a platform to express themselves for the first time in their young lives."

Or you can give a girl one of many presents they offer to help empower her. Check them out below!!

When a girl's voice is being heard she will not only use that to fight for herself and her rights, but also to fight for the rights of other girls, women, and everyone else in her community. Which is why it's also important for you as a woman to find an outlet for your own voice to be heard. In addition to helping a girl get her own radio show, it's time for you to start your own radio show too!! If you are reading this it means you have access to blog talk radio, which is the radio station I've been on before. So why not host your own show? They have a variety of plans you can do and while it's not free, it is definitely affordable, especially if you decided to get together a bunch of your gfs to host a show, and then you can all split it! This gives you a platform to speak about everything that is important to you as a woman. YOUR VOICE NEEDS TO BE HEARD!!!

Or you can make sure your voice is being heard through a blog or other forums on the internet. This last link shows why it's so important for us as women to be telling our stories. In this case a woman tells the story of herself, and another woman who both struggled to be able to pay for an abortion while living in poverty.

BE BRAVE AND POWERFUL!!!
