KEEP GIRLS IN THE PICTURE!

CARE does a lot of wonderful work to help end poverty through the empowerment of women and girls abroad. They have a new site that they sent me today, that I really wanted to feature. This site has a lot of stories of girls all over the world who are overcoming poverty, war, and fighting against child marriage in order to continue going to school. The site also has a lot of information about programs CARE is running to help these girls, and ways for you to get involved.

This is one story I really liked, and if you need some more girl inspiration definitely check out the site below and support everything that they are doing.

"My brothers had gone to school, but I thought I'd never experience it," Pinki recalls. "It was out of the question."

Pinki's parents, after some convincing, gave her one chance to prove her worth outside of marriage and motherhood by letting her go to school. Thirteen years, later, Pinki, now 26, has earned a college degree. She is the most educated person from her village.

....In fact, as the most educated person in Schti, local authorities frequently call on Pinki to review important paperwork and help them make decisions."
