The first article is written by a woman who was the victim of girl to girl bullying.

"Daughters, your enemy is not another girl, it's misogyny. It's all around you, dumbing you down, trying to make you small in size and spirit, using your body to sell products like beer and bacon burgers and television plots that feature women being raped and murdered, telling you that women are bitches, especially to each other. Quick reminder: it was "bitches" that won you the right to vote, to wear jeans, get divorced, own property, obtain contraception, get an education, run for office, work for equal pay, and above all, without those "bitches" your parents might have already married you off in exchange for a hearty goat. Your true allies are, and always have been, other women. Never lose sight of this."

This next article is written by Sheila Kelley who is the founder of the S-Factor, and is all about a comment that was made by a female boss to her female employee.

"This idea of women competing against women is archaic. It is a man-made falsehood that keeps some women hell bent on making other women disappear. We don't need to hurt each other to be relevant, to be respected, to be attractive. We can get ahead and thrive and succeed within our own being. Each one of us has the ability to create and enjoy our own presence fully, freely, shining brightly, and reveling in our own sensuality."

This next article talks about the use of the word bossy, and how it's usually used to reference anytime a girl shows characteristics of being strong, independent or a leader. This article talks about how using a negative term like this prevents women from aspiring to the levels of power that we rightfully deserve.

"This doesn't only affect women at the highest levels of power. Over the past year, I (Sheryl) have traveled around the world speaking about my book, "Lean In." From Beijing to Minneapolis, I have asked groups of men and women to raise their hands if they've been called "too aggressive" at work. Time and again, a small fraction of men raise their hands, while a great majority of women shoot a hand into the air...and sometimes two. At Howard University, I asked a group of female students if they had been called "bossy" during their childhoods. From within the sea of waving hands, one woman shouted, During my childhood? How about last week!"

These stereotypes become self-fulfilling prophecies. Despite earning the majority of college degrees, women make up just 19% of the U.S. Congress, 5% of Fortune 500 CEOs and 10% of heads of state. Most leadership positions are held by men, so society continues to expect leadership to look and act male and to react negatively when women lead."

Last but not least let's end this post with a list of amazing women worldwide who are standing up and fighting for the rights of women and girl's and are inspirations to us all! I'm sure all these women have been called bossy, and if this is what bossy looks like, then I'll take that term any day!
