What I love about this story is that it involves one woman who goes to another country to help women, and then she inspires all these young women to get involved to help women as well. Now their invention is going to save the lives of many women and girls all over the world!

As women & girls we have this amazing blend of intelligence and compassion, and when those two combine we are unstoppable, and world change for the better is inevitable! I'm sure these young women are going to go on to do even more amazing things in their lives, and this is just the beginning!

And in case any of you young girls need some more inspiration, here's a story I stumbled across the other day. We officially have our own flag on the top of Mount Everest. Patriarchy over, Women and Girls world domination official!!!

"Plan supporter Nishat Mazumder has made history by becoming the first Bangladeshi woman to reach the top of Mount Everest. Flying the flag for Plan’s ‘Because I am a Girl’ campaign, the 31-year-old accountant reached the summit of the 8,848 meter peak on 19th May."

“Taking on this challenge as a woman, I realized just how important it is for girls to be empowered. Plan’s Because I am a Girl campaign is all about having a voice and being strong, so I wanted to do this to show girls around the world that nothing is impossible."
