The right is just full of women ready to take away our reproductive rights....

This was a statement in a recent NY times articles, talking about how the current GOP is full of women who want to take away our rights to our own bodies. As I vented my anger on my fb page, one of my very insightful male "friends" pointed out how its not fair to blame this whole thing on men, given that there are women in congress who are doing lots of "anti-feminist" things, whatever that means.

Yes, I'm well aware that they've managed to find the 5 or so women who are completely willingly to sell out their entire gender for their own political or personal gain. But thats all it is 5 or so women, out of what 3.5 billion. With that being said until anyone can prove to me that they aren't actually men, I'm not believing for a second they have lady parts.

Despite this, they have become the voice for all women. This is because women have been so silenced in our entire society and world, not to mention the only women who do seem to easily get the spotlight are those who fit into this ideal of what it means to be a women, at least in terms of the stereotype that men have created for us. One in which we are feeble-minded creatures who want to stay second-class citizens, and believe that men know what is best for us. I doubt any woman has ever felt that way throughout the 5,000 year patriarchal hell we've been living under, but men want to believe this is how we feel. The whole idea of a strong, independent, self-assured woman is way too threatening. Remember all those times Hillary has stood up and spoke her mind, only to be blasted in the media as being emotional, and thus implying she might not be able to handle her job.

Given that the rest of us which fit into what 99.99 percent of what women actually what, think and feel, are being represented by the so few women who seem to have no idea of what it means to actually be a woman, its become ever more increasingly destructive. Michelle Bachmann recently echoed this sentiment about how Planned Parenthood is evil, while Lila Rose walks around with her "human trafficking" footage. Despite that I'm 100 percent positive that this Lila girl has been paid insane amounts of money to do this, and by whom I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult to figure out. While its sad that they can even find one woman who seems to have no problem trying to set us back 200 years, good luck trying to find more than this small group of women who will do the same.

Its also important to note the age gap in the anti-choice movement, these women fall into two groups. Post-menopausal women who are of retirement age, or women (more accurately girls) under the age of 18 who seem to have been indoctrinated by some religion and because of their age have little to no control over participating in anti-choice protests and activities. Where are the massive amounts of women, who not only have life experience but are of reproductive age? Well they sure as hell aren't standing outside of planned parenthood screaming at women, because none of them are anti-choice. Thus the need for someone like Lila Rose who can be the inaccurate voice for this generation. Maybe thats why they're paying her so much.

With that being said I imagine the post-menopausal women themselves fall into a few categories. Either they experienced some loss of a womb, such as their own miscarriage, maybe had to or did have an abortion, or watched a loved one die from performing an at home abortion. Keep in mind a lot of them existed prior to Roe v. Wade. They probably think and blame their pain on abortions themselves, instead of seeing the much larger, more complicated picture. I believe most of them think that what they are doing is the best thing to do, I think they just are very misguided and need to be more educated. Maybe need some sort of healing intervention. I think if we as women were able to come together and support them I bet we could change their whole entire stance on this issue in one day. I also think it falls into the category of when women fell disempowered they tend to take it out on other women. They probably just need someone to give them a makeover and a new wardrobe.

With that being said the men in the anti-choice movement are there for one and only one reason, to destroy and disempower women. As I answered to my male friend who was an expert on women, I would much rather discuss this issue with women and decide what is best for us as women, even with the crazy ones, than to live in a world in which men even think they have the right to weigh in and discuss what is right for me and my body, or the bodies of other women. If you're so concerned about what happens to your precious sperm the second it leaves your body, than don't have sex, don't have sex ever, because the second it leaves your body is the second you forfeit all rights to it. If you have a problem with this than you better look into a vasectomy.
